The Newest Kurt Cobain Conspiracy Theory: HE’S STILL ALIVE!

Kurt Cobain died by his own hand sometime on April 5, 1994–or did he?

Some people don’t think so. Like those who believe that Jim Morrison, Elvis, Tupac and Richey Edwards faked their own deaths, they insist that Kurt is still with us. Not only that, but he continues to perform in public.

Let’s examine the “evidence.” (Beware: There be whackos ahead.)

First, let me introduce you to Ramiro Saavedra, a Peruvian singer with a resemblance (I guess) to Kurt. A video of Saavedra performing Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” tweaked the interest of theorist because–well, just look.

Here’s another look at him.

Nice try, but can you see the most obvious problem? Kurt played guitar left-handed; this guy is a righty. And if Kurt were still alive, he’d be 49 years old. Does this guy look that old?

This sarcastic response appeared on the Nirvana Facebook page. “It is true, Kurt is alive. He needed time to learn to play the guitar with his right hand. Finding left-handed guitars is not easy. We are so happy to have him back and forgive him for all of the sadness that we have held so deeply in our hearts.”

I’ll pass on this particular conspiracy. Back to researching the real cause of those white spots on Ceres.
