Prince’s Spanish Home for Sale

This week, the house that Prince bought as a wedding gift for his first wife is for sale and featured at TopTenRealEstateDeals.com.

On Valentine’s Day 1996, Prince married his first wife, backup singer Mayte Garcia. That October the couple had a son named Boy Gregory. The baby was unfortunately born with a rare genetic disease and died a week later. Prince bought a villa in Spain in 1998 as a gift to his wife.

Located in Marbella, Spain in the hills of El Paraiso, the villa has views of the sea, mountains, valley, and golf course. Just like his other homes, Prince decorated the house elaborately. The house is situated on 1.45 acres of subtropical walled and landscaped grounds. The 7,535 square foot villa also features 2,583 square feet of terraces for outdoor living, a tennis court, a pool, and a three-car garage plus parking for six more vehicles. The expansive outdoor area has soft ambient lighting at night for entertaining guests outside.

On the inside, the house has six bedroom suites, including two masters and a grand master that has two levels. Public rooms have good flow, everything has been updated, and the kitchen has been renovated.

The romantic location and the elaborate house were inspirations for several of Prince’s songs. The listing agent for Prince’s former Spanish home is Evert Ebus of Engel & Volkers and the house is priced at $5.99M or €5.25M.
