Record Store Day Supporter Made a Knight. In France.

Michael Kurtz, the head of the Department of Record Stores (yes, that’s his title) was honoured at the MIDEM conference in France for his work at promoting the importance of record stores.  He was named a “Knight” of the Orders of Arts and Letters by the French Minister of Culture.

By the way, Record Store Day is known as Disquaire Day in France.  (Shades of a Royale with cheese, no?) This year’s date is April 20.
