The Canadian Air Guitar Championships are coming up this week

Last year, I was asked to be a judge in the finals of the Canadian Air Guitar Championships. Damn, it was fun. Our winner went to Finland to compete in the world finals, but alas, did not place. Maybe things will be different this year.

The 2026 finals are set for Ground Control on Queen Street West in Toronto this coming Saturday (May 23). With the slogan again being #MakeAirNotWar, proceeds will go to Food Banks Canada.

Our contestants include.

  • PaulE LaBace (Saint John NB)
  • Screaming Ego (Ottawa)
  • Ed Head Prime (Kingston)
  • The Dark Horse Round featuring someone who might just creep up and snag the price.

Doors open at 7 with the show starting at 8 pm. Ground Control is at 1279 Queen Street West in Toronto. More details here.
