The Tragically Hip are Canada’s Record Store Day Ambassadors for 2024. There’s a new live album, too.

Every year, Record Store Day names its ambassadors for the event. For 2024, The Tragically Hip get that honour. In conjunction with that, the band has announced a special RSD release Live at CBGB’s, a recording made on January 14, 1993. The Hip were just starting the tour in support of their legendary Fully Completely album.

This was a private gig performance of almost the entire album (a couple of tracks were omitted because they didn’t work in the space). The RSD release is coming on pink vinyl and will also be available on a limited run of pink cassettes through select stores in Canada and the US.

Here’s the tracklisting.

Live At CBGB’s Track List;

  1. Fully Completely
  2. Looking For A Place To Happen
  3. Courage (For Hugh MacLennan)
  4. Fifty-Mission Cap
  5. Pigeon Camera
  6. We’ll Go Too
  7. At The Hundredth Meridian
  8. Locked In The Trunk Of A Car
  9. The Wherewithal

Previous Canadian RSD Ambassadors have included Triumph, The Sheepdogs, Our Lady Peace. Other international Ambassadors on the list: Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age, Taylor Swift, and Pearl Jam.

  • I’m looking forward to missing out on this, then seeing it on eBay for $250 each by noon on RSD.
