Third Eye Blind Trolls the Republican National Convention

There have been protests at the Republican National Convention this week, but few have received much attention. Until now.

Third Eye Blind–yes, they’re still with us–performed for attendees and took the opportunity to troll the hardliners. It was wonderful.

Singer Stephen Jenkins had a few things to say about his gay cousins (some murmurs from the crowd) and a plea for acceptance for LGBTQ people in society (boos).

At another point in the set, Jenkins said “Raise your hand if you believe in science.” More boos. This Billboard article shows how unimpressed the Republican faithful were with 3EB’s set. Clevescene.com has a bit more.

I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of the band, but what a ballsy move. Good for them.
