Time to Start Prepping for the 2016 Polaris Music Prize

Here’s a sure sign that spring must be coming: the announcement of the key dates for the 2016 Polaris Music Prize.

The 200+ members of the jury are already debating, nominating, arguing and otherwise sorting through the merits of dozens and dozens of Canadian albums. By June 15, the first cull will have been complete with the announcement of the Polaris Long List of 40 semi-finalists (site/location still to be determined.)

The fighting respectful debate will continue until the second cull culminates in the Polaris Short List of 10 finalists on July 14th at the Carlu in Toronto. The Grand Gala will also be at the Carlu on September 19th.
