Tom DeLonge Announces Cast for his Sci-Fi Movie

Tom DeLonge has been very busy since leaving blink-182 with his Sekret Machines books (see here and here), which delve into the world of UFOs and government-run alien cover-ups. And ever since the Angels & Airwaves project, he’s wanted to direct a sci-fi movie. That time is almost here.

Called Strange Times, the film will star Jack Samson (Zodiac) as Charlie Wilken while Lizze Broadway (Bones and Chicago PD) has been cast as Alli. According to Tom, there were more than 3,000 casting submissions for the lead parts.

So what’s it about? A bunch of rebellious skateboarders who chance upon some weird paranormal activity. The movie is based on Tom’s existing Strange Time franchise. Here’s what he said to the Hollywood Reporter:

I grew up in Southern California as a disaffected young skateboarder who broke the occasional law or five, and I was always dreaming about the world around me, obsessively looking for the more unusual and imaginative experiences that life has to offer.

No word on when filming will begin, but we do know that Angels & Airwaves will be responsible for the soundtrack.
