Two women from Hamilton just won the Karaoke World Championships

Karaoke is a big, big thing with some people. Singapore, a country where I spend a considerable amount of time, is littered with karaoke joints known as KTV lounges. China, South Korea, and Japan are also karaoke hotspots. It would stand to reason, then, that the best karaoke singers in the world would come from those areas.

Nope. They’re from Hamilton. At least for 2019.

After winning the right to compete in the Karaoke World Championships in Tokyo, Candace Miles and Kate Dion beat out competitors from 40 countries to win the gold medal. No Canadians have ever done this well in the KWC before.

The CBC has the whole story here.
