Just ahead of the start of Canadian Music Week where the industry gathers in Toronto to discuss the state of the industry, here’s a check-up on what’s happening with recorded music this week.

Year-over-year stats:

  • Total album sales, -10.7%
  • CD sales, -3.3%
  • Digital albums, -22.1%
  • Digital tracks, -20.3%
  • Vinyl LPs, +0.9%
  • On-demand audio streams, +13.2%

Week-over-week stats:

  • Total album sales, -2.0%
  • CD sales, +8.0%
  • Digital albums, -7.1%
  • Digital tracks, -0.3%
  • Vinyl LPs, -15.8%
  • On-demand audio streams, +1.8% (2.202 billion streams in the country last week)
