Okay, so I forgot to post this Monday evening when MRC/Nielsen sent out the email. Let’s get caught up on what happened with Canadian music sales and streaming from last week.

Year-over-year stats:

  • Total album sales, -28.4%
  • CD sales, -48.2%
  • Digital albums, -19.7%
  • Digital tracks, -25.1%
  • Vinyl LPs, +24.3%
  • On-demand audio streams, +10.7%

Now comparing things week-over-week:

  • Total album sales, -1.6%
  • CD sales, +0.5%
  • Digital albums, -6.0%
  • Digital tracks, -1.7%
  • Vinyl LPs, +4.1%
  • On-demand audio streams, +2.3% (1.832 billion streams in the country last week)
