The Forest City London Music Awards are coming up from April 28 to May 5. Along with plenty of gigs, an awards show and other music-related events is the annual professional development day on May 4.

The event offers all sorts of (nearly) free advice and mentorship opportunities along with performances, exhibits, an appearance by Rough Trade’s Carole Pope, and a keynote presentation by Susan Aglukark.

Also that morning, I’ll interview photographer Richard Beland on the art of taking pictures of musicians. Take a look.
