Mariah Carey set a new Spotify streaming record with THAT SONG

There was some concern/joy this season that Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” had finally peaked and was on its way down as a cultural phenomenon. For a while, Brenda Lee’s 50s hit, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Street” was the most-streamed holiday song of 2022. When Mariah heard that, her reaction was “Hold my beer.”

On December 24 along, “All I Want” was the most-streamed song on Spotify, racking up 21.273 million listens. That’s not just a Christmas Eve record or a record for a holiday song. No track in history of the universe has been streamed more on Spotify than that in a 24-hour period.

Sorry, Taylor, BTS, and Adele. Mariah kicked everyone’s ass.
