Here are a few things about Muse that might have escaped your attention.

(1) Matt Bellamy’s father was something of a rock star. He was the guitarist in The Tornados, the first British band to have a number one hit with a song called “Telstar” in 1962. (See below)

(2) Despite dad being a rocker, Matt really wanted to be a classical or jazz musician. For a while, the clarinet seemed to be a good idea.

And (3) Muse got some early support from Prince Charles, getting a 250 pound grant from The Prince’s Trust charity. They used that 250 quid to be their first proper PA system. Drummer Dom Howard still has it and says he uses it for family weddings.
