Soundgarden is BACK! Well, sort of. I’d better explain.

Until the remaining members of Soundgarden finish duking it out with Vicky Cornell over the vocal demos Chris left behind, we won’t be getting any new Soundgarden material. However, there is something definitely Soundgarden-ish.

The Pretty Reckless have just released a new music video for the song “Only Love Can Save Me Now,” which is a single from the album, Death by Rock and Roll. It features Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil. Only bassist Ben Shepherd is missing. The vibe is definitely reminiscent of Soundgarden’s Louder Than Love era.

Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen says “The song was born out of tragedy and brought to life by two of my favorite musicians of all time – Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil. Hearing them play it is simply surreal. This song represents getting through the worst time in my life, and yet, is one of my proudest achievements. It means that there is hope, and that life has to go on, and most importantly, is worth living.”

  • it does really have a tasty Soundgarden vibe sound to it… I always thought the name of the band Pretty Wreckless has a Soundgarden/Chris Cornell feel to it. Glad to see these guys back together, and while i like the bass line i wish Ben would have been part of this too
