Stoked for Ozzy’s new album? Prove it with ink
It’s the kind of media stunt that’s so obvious and so good, you wonder why it didn’t happen earlier.
Ozzy Osbourne has announced a listening party followed by a tattoo event to celebrate the release of his new album, “Ordinary Man,” on February 20.
There will be parties in 50 cities around the world, including Montreal and Toronto, and Ozzy himself will be signing copies of the new album at the iconic Amoeba Records in LA on February 21, but people will have a chance to get a tattoo to boot.
It’s being billed as the largest global tattoo sale and album listening event in history and they might be right
The February 20 listening party will feature the new album in its entirety followed by the chance to commemorate the occasion with an Ozzy-inspired tattoo, because why not make it official that you love the one and only prince of darkness?
The designs will be created by the tattoo shops and prices will vary but more will be revealed on February 13, according to Ozzy’s website.
Interested? You’ll need to RSVP.
The Canadian locations include Chronic Ink Tattoo, 252 Eglington Avenue East, in Toronto, with tattoos offered from 1-8 p.m., and MTL Tattoo, 3933 Rue Saint-Denis in Montreal, from noon until 9 p.m.
It’s not outside the realm of possibility that if you love Ozzy, you might already have a tattoo to pledge your loyalty. Why not get one more? And if not, what a great story to tell someone in the future, that you were among a select group of international Ozzy fans, kicking off his 17th album with some new ink?
