The AI Song Contest is back for 2023: The Grammys for robots. Sort of.

There’s no AI music unless things begin with human input. The technology is destined to become a serious creative tool for people who respect it and learn how to use it in interesting ways. Enter the AI Song Contest.

The 2023 edition is dedicated to “elevating human creativity by promoting AI as an artistic partner instead of replacing musicians.” For example, the winners of the 2020 contest was won by a team from Australia who used AI to make music from samples of koalas, kookaburras and Tasmanian devils.

Submissions are open now until September 4. The grand finale will be held in with A Coruña, Spain, in November. Voting will be conducted by a jury aided by public input.
