The Red Hot Chili Peppers finally get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have probably referenced Hollywood, LA, and California more in their music than anyone else over the last forty years, so it’s fitting that they finally get their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Theirs will be the 2,717th star and will be located right between Wheel of Fortune‘s Pat Sajak and Jack Paar, the late-night talk show pioneer from the 50s. That’s at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, right next to Amoeba Music (appropriate) on the south side of the street.

The ceremony will happen on March 31 and will include the presence of George Clinton (an early RHCP producer) and, for some reason, Woody Harrelson. That’s the day before their Unlimited Love album comes out.

  • Well deserved. Perhaps I will get to go and see it one day. Although, in my opinion they are a little over-rated, relying too much on “their sound” for their hits. That said, I really like their new single which – given my limited knowledge of RHCP – seems like a fresh, new sound for them.
