This new Canadian cannabis brand will support emerging musical talent by selling cannabis products.

[A full disclosure: I’m an investor in this company. Just wanna be up front about that. -AC]

There’s a new cannabis player in Canada, but with a difference. LOOP/POOL is a collective founded by some artist-owners with a mission of supporting emerging Canadian musical talent by selling licensed weed products. A minimum of 5% of all proceeds will be used to give new Canadian musicians help.

The co-founders are Our Lady Peace (singer Raine Maida is on the Board of Directors), Blue Rodeo, Kieza, Stars, dvsn, and Felix Cartal. Investor Michael Wekerle (owner of the El Mocambo) is also involved.

The company made a successful pitch on the finale of CBC’s Dragon’s Den last year.
