Thousands of AC/DC Fans Not Loving the Axl Rose Idea
Brian Johnson’s ear won’t allow him to ride out the rest of AC/DC’s world tour. If he tried, doctors say he’d end up deaf. But with so many gigs to go, AC/DC decided to continue with a second-string singer. In this case, that singer is Axl Rose.
On paper, this sounds like it might be a good idea. In practice, though, it’s not turning out that way.
First, fans kicked up a stink, saying that they bought tickets to see AC/DC with Brian Johnson, not Axl Rose. Second, the band and promoters capitulated, offering refunds to people who wanted to part of this. Seemed like the right thing to do. The deadline for asking for your money back is today.
Well, thousands of fans have taken them up on the offer. In Belgium, 7,000 people with tickets to the May 16 show in Werchter, Belgium, went the refund route. There are reports of similar issues in Spain.
Both the band and Live Nation are putting a positive spin on the situation, saying that new ticket sales are offsetting the refunds they’ve had to give.
Here are the Axl-DC tour dates for Europe.
May 7 – Lisbon, Portugal – Passeio Maritimo De Alges
May 10 – Seville, Spain – Estadio De La Cartuja
May 13 – Marseille, France – Stade Velodrome

I would like to now what happens when Axl has one of his famous dummy-spits on stage. I don’t consider that as part of AC/DC’s MO so… I can’t see it going down well.
