VR radio? Yes! Apple Vision Pro integrates Radioplayer Canada

Radioplayer Canada is a lovely piece of software that lets you stream hundreds of radio stations from across the country. Up until now, it’s strictly been an audio experience.

The company has developed an app for Apple’s Vision Pro virtual reality headset. It’s currently available in Canada, France, the UK, and Germany. All you need is the Radioplayer App and one of Apple’s headsets. No problem. They’re selling for $5,000.

Still, this is an interesting radio experiment. The app takes the form of a “radio” that gets incorporated into a VR setting. Since I haven’t seen this yet, I can only tell you what I’ve been told. It places the user in a custom reality with their favourite radio stations playing.

This is from OJ Torvmark, Head of Product at Radioplayer:

“Launching our app today alongside Apple’s Vision Pro demonstrates our commitment to pushing the boundaries of radio technology. This integration allows us to offer a unique, spatial radio experience that transforms how users interact with audio content.”

Okay. Apple? Wanna send me a headset so I can check it out? I’m a bit skint, so $5K is a little out of my range…
