This Week on The Ongoing History of New Music: Episode 693

Joey was the first to go in 2001, losing a long battle with lymphoma.. Then came Dee Dee of a drug overdose followed by Johnny from prostate cancer. Earlier this year, Tommy Ramone–the last of the original Ramones–also passed away from cancer.

This week, we’ll pay tribute to the original lineup of the Ramones, the brudders who gave us those first three albums. It’s a deep dive into the origins of the band and how they became one of the most influential and important rock bands of all time.
