Weekly Canadian sales and streaming stats: 05 December 2022

This week’s report wraps up eleven months of 2022. Another month to go in the recorded music industry’s fiscal year. Next week, we’ll start seeing more of the Christmas Shopping Effect.

  • CD sales, -11.4%
  • Digital albums, -18.5%
  • Digital tracks, -16.9%
  • Vinyl LPs, -3.1%
  • On-demand audio streams, +13.4%

Week-to-week numbers:

  • Total album sales, +11.5%
  • CD sales, +14.3%
  • Digital albums, -7.3%
  • Digital tracks, -0.3%
  • Vinyl LPs, +28.9%(!!!)
  • On-demand audio streams, +0.7% (2.269 billion streams in the country last week)
