Will Hole Become Whole in 2014?

There are whispers that Courtney Love has made up with guitarist Eric Erlandson, which could pave the way for a Hole reunion in 2014.  That’s fine, but I have a feeling that there’s more than just a desire to get the band back together for old time’s sake.

Courtney is facing a number of legal challenges, one of which involves a libel suit filed by a former lawyer for comments Courtney made in a tweet when she and the lawyer parted ways.  This issue is going to trial beginning January 13 and will mark the first time a celebrity has been sued for libel/slander/defamation over a tweet.  Legal watchers say this will be a precedent-setting case on many different levels.  It’s literally going to be one for the history books.

I have, um, a very personal interest in this particular case which may require me to be in Los Angeles in a couple of weeks.  Sorry to be so cryptic, but once it all comes out I’ll give you the whole story.  I think.

But back to the reunion.  There’s money in getting bands back together–and frankly, Courtney could probably use the cash to deal with all her legal bills.  I have no proof of this, but the impetus behind any Hole reunion could be a direct result of this court case.  We’ll see.
