Behold the Brazilian All-Female Thrash Band

In an upcoming two-part Ongoing History of New Music, I’m going to look at the most fascinating all female bands in the history of alt-rock. On part one, we look back at the days when it was common knowledge that women just couldn’t rock like men. Crazy, I know, but the concept of an all-female rock band that could rock as hard as any group of dudes was…well, it just wasn’t possible because, you know, TWO X chromosome.

Fortunately, we’ve evolved. All-female bands are not only the norm but no one questions the ability of women to do whatever dudes can do. Take his new release from NERVOSA (yes, in ALL CAPS), a Brazilian trio who have a new album called Agony.
