While the recorded music industry’s focus is now on fall releases, we still need to keep track of how things are progressing through the waning days of summer. Here’s a look at where sales and streaming stand as of this week.

Year-over-year comparisons:

  • Total album sales, -9.9%
  • CD sales, -4.7%
  • Digital albums, -18.3%
  • Digital tracks, -17.7%
  • Vinyl LPs, -2.3%
  • On-demand audio streams, +13.7%

Week-over-week numbers:

  • Total album sales, +0;6%
  • CD sales, -1.7%
  • Digital albums, +0.7%
  • Digital tracks, +1.1%
  • Vinyl LPs, +6.3%
  • On-demand audio streams, -0.8% (2.174 billion streams in the country last week)
