Ongoing History Daily: Red Hot Chili Pepper facts

Think you know everything about the Red Hot Chili Peppers? How about these little nuggets?

(1) Flea is a beekeeper. The last I heard, he had three beehives housing 200,000 bees.

(2) Flea used to think that rock was for morons. His original dream was to be a famous jazz trumpet player. It wasn’t until he was exposed to punk in high school that he changed his mind. At the age of 45, he enrolled in university to study music theory and more trumpet.

(3) Anthony once went on an adventure in Borneo where he contracted a terrible parasitic disease. He had to be airlifted out.

(4) Chad Smith is a major hockey fan from Detroit. When he played minor hockey, he was a goalie.

Yesterday’s Ongoing History Daily post recommended a novel set in the music industry.
