One of the most critically-acclaimed bands to come out of the UK over the past couple of years is Wet Leg, the duo of Rihan Teasdale and Hester Chambers.

They’d known each other for about ten years before they decided to form a band. During that time, Rhian was in a band based in Bristol that didn’t really go anywhere. Her main job was working as a stylist for other UK artists while Hester made jewelry.

So why the name “Wet Leg?” They were playing a game where they created out of various combinations of emojis. When they got to “wet leg,” it stuck. Hey, whatever works, right?
